IN HOUSE CLASS PRESENTATIONS
As you will be aware we give students from the age of 6 the opportunity to enter ballet, tap and modern exams with external examination bodies. We will be continuing to do this but have decided that in order for pupils who have not had this opportunity, or do not wish to be entered, we will be holding internal class presentations where tutors of Dance Pointe Academy will assess the progress of the students in an informal exam situation and the child will be given positive feedback and a progress certificate. This will give teachers, parents and pupils the opportunity to learn of the pupils progress throughout the year and also help with the pupils confidence, ability and strength for their career in dance. Presentations will be held on the 5th and 6th of May 2012.
CHOREOGRAPHY AND DANCE COMPETITION
This year we will be holding a new choreography competition which will allow students to choreograph their own pieces either solo or in small or large groups to perform in front of guest judges. This will be a great event and will be an excellent learning curve for the students, helping their creative side flourish. The competition will be held in the first week of June with performances from guest dancers and the performance team!
EASTER DAY OF DANCE
4th and 11th April 2012
After last years success, we will be running two Easter Days of Dance. There will be morning sessions for students 5 to 11 yrs and afternoon sessions from 12 yrs up. Classes are open to both boys and girls with guest teachers coming along to do some very exciting workshops. The cost for the sessions are £15 per day with a deposit of £3 to ensure your child's place. Book fast as the numbers fill up quickly!!!
ANNUAL SHOW 2012
As we all know the summer months can be a bad time for people going on holidays and students doing academic exams, so, after plenty of thought we have decided to hold the annual show off till the Autumn term .We are extremely excited by this change of date and will let you know as soon as possible the date and venue for this. It is going to be an amazing show this year as the students just keep getting better.......
